After being away from it for so long its so wonderful to be back online. So to recap the following week.
Thursday: Woke up at the unholy hour of 4:30 AM so that I could get to the school by 5:30. After getting to the school we got to sit around for about an hour waiting for the buses to come (they were supposed to be at the school at 6:00). This was the beginning of our bad bus karama. On the way we watched POTO, some odd Peanuts short, and the Incredibles. Thanks to the magic of portable DVD players Alyssa and I watched Perfect Blue instead of the last two movies. Many of the other bandos were wowed by the player. Unfortunetly people started comming to the back of the bus during certain scenes that I'd rather the chaperons didn't see. Eventually we arrived at Virginia Beach after crossing the long ass bridge that wowed everyone else but me as the bridges novelty wears off after the second time you cross it. The hotel room was lovely in that the room had a DVD player already so I didn't have to mess with mine. After unpacking we went on a green tea search then to the beach. I didn't swim as I thought it was too cold. I instead dug a trench. We eventually ate hambugers and similar stuff and went back to the room where we watched POTO again.
Friday: We got to wake up around 7:00 for parade practice. It was cold. We then went to the mall where we got to go to Hot Topic. I tried to figure out how the goth girls can stand to wear those lacey arm warmers. They look very cool but at the same time are very itchy. We also went to Waldens where I bought AS vol. 7 and played DDR at the arcade. We went back to the hotel and got ready for the cruise. Apparently some of the girls had been getting ready hours before hand. They are crazy. The cruise had good food. They pointed out crap along the river's banks which was vaguely interesting. Some of the people who worked on the cruise did a little dance number. It was a bit frightening. One of the girls dragged Tyler onto the dance floor. That was funny. When they finished they played rap music and the ghetto choir group who was on the cruise with us all rushed onto the floor. The only Nazareth bando who had any idea how to dance like them was Casey Crossin. This shocked every other member of the band. Mr. B thought it was hillarious. After the cruise we went to go-cart/mini-golf place. We played mini-golf and go carted obviously. We also played pool and air hockey. The former I won by default and the latter I pwned at. Then we went back to the hotel and played a really pathetic game of texas hold-um while listening to some random drunk guy's stories about playing poker in an elevator. This was also the day when the bus's toliet began leaking
Saturday: We woke up at an even more unholy hour to go the parade. The parade's length was probably shorter than the distance from my house to the middle school. After we went to Busch Gardens where Alyssa and I waited for about 2 hours to get on the new ride which broke down for a couple of minutes and then broke down again right as we were about to get on. At this point we had to leave the line to go to the picnic thing. The people working there gave us a VIP pass to get right back on since we waited so long. So after dinner we got to skip the line and got on immediatly. It was an awesome ride. We bought the cutest beanie babies in the Germany area. It's a bear named Deutschland and has little German flags all over it. The poem on the inside of the tag is completely in German. I'm not sure what happened after we got back to the hotel as I fell asleep rather quickly.
Sunday: About 5 minutes after we get on the bus to go home it breaks down two blocks from the hotel. We had to wait two hours for them to get another one. Fortunetly we broke down next to a Wendys that was giving away free frostys. Eventually we get a new bus with a working bathroom. On the way to Baltimore we watched Meet the Fockers and National Treasure. About half an hour into MTF I started watching POTO. Then Alyssa and I watched The Haunting until we got to Baltimore. We ate dinner at Hardrock. I have pics of Meckas and a couple of other Bandos standing on their seats and doing the YMCA. After dinner I gave money to homeless people. I remembered why I both hate and love Baltimore. After we got back onto the bus we watched the rest of The Haunting until my players battery died two minutes from the end. Eventually we got home
Monday: I was forced to attend the most depressing assembly ever. It was about drunk driving. This lady came in and told us about how her son was killed by a drunk driver. She had this video of pics of him to My Heart will Go On which made me cry. she also had a piece of the shirt he was wearing when he was burned in the crash. Although depressing it was also a bit morbid.
Tuesday: I got sick. I always get sick after band trips. I was dragged to the doctor to get a strep test. I haven't had one in years so I forgot how annoying they were. I slept most of the day and then watched POTO.
Today: I was rather dead during school. Gym was interesting in that two of the boys pants kept falling down. Also I think Brandon Klein has the worst balance of anyone I know. He falls down at least once each class. The concert band concert was tonight. Definitly not our best performance.
