Got back from vacation today.
Sunday: Went to my Grandma's house for dinner. My second-cousins weren't there so I was rather bored until my aunt came. POTO was brought up in the conversation. Apparently my aunt saw the stage show awhile ago. So we watched my DVD and bonded over Raoul bashing. Then one of my cousins arrived and joined our Raoul bashing fun. I was surprised as she usually goes for the pretty boy types.
Monday: Like every 4th of July we went down to the park and ate chicken while watching a lame puppet show. Once we escaped that pain we watched the crazy bird guy for a bit then went to the craft area. Some guy there was selling ghost story books he wrote. I of course bought one. After awhile Kristin and I went back to my Grandma's house. Matthew, Seth and Brent (my second cousins) were there which was nice. I got to watch Seth run around shouting no as Bill tried to make him put pants on. Very cute. Sherri(cousin) and Bill ended up going back down to the park and took Seth and Matthew with them. Brent, Kristin and I stayed at the house and watched The Lion King 1 1/2. Much to my surprise it ended up being a very cute movie. Around 6 we went down to watch the parade. You'd think after all the years we've been going there we'd have a place planned out to sit. We ended up sitting next to Rev. Potter. His kid is adorable. Erin had alot of fun watching the parade and fighting all the other little children for the candy. Brent didn't want any candy and seemed kind of down. I think that he wanted to watch it with his mom. After the parade I got my taco salad like I do every year then we walked back to my Grandma's house to watch the fireworks which were lovely. Afterwords we hung around for a bit. I sat and watched TV while Brent and Matthew fought over who got to sit next to me. They were pushing each other and everything. Eventually one of them gave in and sat on the other side of me. We watched Galaxy Quest and eventually Matthew fell asleep on my lap Brent fell asleep leaning against me. This night also marked the beginning of Kristin's sleepwalking spree. She woke us up in the middle of the night by trying to get the door open. Thankfully the chain was hooked up.
Tuesday: Drove to Pittsburgh and got a box of Eat'n Park cookies. We got there sometime in the afternoon and went to the Carnegie Science Center. They've changed it alot since I was last there. I had bad physics flashbacks in one area where they had a pool of water and a little stick thing that you could shake to cause waves. Afterwords we went to the Mall that the original Dawn of the Dead was filmed in. They didn't have DDR but they did have a Hot Topic so all was good. Here my father learned what Happy Tree Friends is and poked around the JTHM comics. I'm very glad that they were sealed. I don't think he knows I own the whole series. The covers are very colorful. The hotel we were staying at was right next to the Baseball stadium. There was a game everynight. I'm pretty sure that the Pirates won Tuesday's game. We ate dinner at a restraunt that was down the street from the hotel. Standing on the street outside of it made me remember so much from when I was little. I remember eating there with my Grandfather then going to the museum. That night Kristin ended up sleepwalking again. This time she got out of the room. Thankfully my mom stopped her from leaving. This was the last night of sleepwalking.
Wednesday: Today we went to Kennywood. We made the mistake of going on the discount day. There were some frightening people there. They had a Hang Time there that was above Water fountains that shot up and drenched the people riding it. Lots of fun. They also had a steel rollar coaster more painful than Hercules called The Phantom's Revenge. The had two regular wooden ones and a racing one. My favorite ride though was probably this old fun house called Noah's Ark. It was kinda lame but at the same time was really neat. I guess it was built back in the 20's. We left early cause it looked like it was about to storm. My mom and dad wanted to ride one more rollar coaster so they gave Kristin and me money to play games. Kristin and I both won a Puss in Boots plushie and I won Erin a Dragon one. Erin insisted on calling the toy Pussy.... It was so funny when she asked for one. In her innocent little logic she called it that because cats are called Pussey Cats. It was cute at first but got annoying real quick when she kept calling it that after we told her not to. I saw most of Silence of the Lambs back at the hotel. I think that the Pirates lost this game.
Thursday: For our final day in Pittsburgh we went to the Zoo. I really like it there. We made fun of Kristin while looking at the Gorillas. Years ago at the Cleavlend Zoo we were looking at the Gorillas and one of them got pissed and slammed into the glass right where Kristin was. We have a picture of it right before it attacked. I was made fun of at the Pirrana tank due to certain incidents at the Baltimore Aquarium. We were sad when we found out that their Amazon River Dolphin died a few years ago. I remember being little and very scared of the shark tank so I avoided it and watched the Dolphin. We have lots of photos of us sitting in front of the tank. Erin was being her wimpy little self. She wouldn't look at the nifty glow in the dark scorpians of go into the Bat area. She wouldn't even pet the goat in the petting Zoo although she had no problem petting the sheep and deer. I ended up getting a Rockhopper Penguin stuffed animal. My father and sister made fun of me for it but I always get a stuffed animal when I go to Zoo's and aquariums. We ate at the Hard Rock for dinner. This was the night of the Retainer incident. The waitress accidentally threw away Kristin's retainers which were wrapped in a napkin. They did find them eventually. Apparently she is from Bath. Right next to the outdoor eating area they had this nifty water show fountain thing. They did a neat little show to a bunch of different Disney songs. I called it the medley of forgotten disney music as it was mostly from Pinochio and Peter Pan. Back at the hotel my mom and dad went for a walk and I finally saw X-men. The second movie makes sense now. I think the Pirates won.
Friday: Came home today. Had a very uneventful trip home. I didn't do much when we did get home. I checked various livejournals, websites, fanfics, etc. then played .hack for the rest of the night. Around 10 my dad yelled at me to turn on channel 43. I watched the last TV show I expected to see. Invader Zim was on. Attack of the Saucer Morons and The Wettening. Another episode just ended.
Overall it was a really nice vacation. Kristin whined about how New York is so much cooler. I personally prefer Pittsburgh. I have so many memories of that place. I could really see myself living there one day. They have lots of cultural stuff down there. I saw an add for the Lord of the Rings Symphony which is is going to be playing there later this month. They get Broadway plays there too including POTO.
